campaign's manager, are jointly recognized for mobilizing a national movement to protect lifesaving HIV programs.

Through congressional advocacy, nationwide organizing and the campaign's powerful #CutsKill Quilt demonstrations, Johnson and Boykin have helped elevate the human consequences of federal funding decisions and bring the voices of people living with HIV directly into the national conversation.

Their advocacy has contributed to the successful effort to defeat $3.5 billion in proposed federal HIV funding cuts, including nearly $2 billion in proposed cuts for FY26 alone — preserving critical investments in HIV research, prevention, treatment and care.

Their recognition comes as Save HIV Funding continues confronting threats to the nation's HIV infrastructure. This week, the campaign joined 138 organizations in an urgent congressional appeal to protect federal HIV research and brought its latest #CutsKill rally to IDWeek in Washington, D.C., with AIDS Memorial Quilt panels serving as a powerful reminder of the lives and communities at stake.
<div id=\"bookmark-ecc5e4ba-377b-4743-be60-0d04f2bccdd5\"\n class=\"release-content-bookmark release-content-bookmark--horizontal\">\n\n <a class=\"release-content-bookmark__thumbnail\"\n href=\"https://www.out.com/out100/2026/groundbreakers/maxx-boykin-jeremiah-johnson\"\n rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\n target=\"_blank\" style=\"background-image: url(https://prezly.imgix.net/https%3A%2F%2Fwww.out.com%2Fmedia-library%2Fmaxx-boykin-jeremiah-johnson.jpg%3Fid%3D68442634%26width%3D2000%26height%3D1500%26coordinates%3D155%252C0%252C156%252C0?ar=1%3A1&fit=crop&s=931a9c750af49dda9faa43ee0676a482)\"\n >\n \n
\n\n <a class=\"release-content-bookmark__title\"\n href=\"https://www.out.com/out100/2026/groundbreakers/maxx-boykin-jeremiah-johnson\"\n rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\n target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"bookmark\"\n data-track=\"Story WebBookmark Click\"\n data-placement=\"content\"\n data-id=\"ecc5e4ba-377b-4743-be60-0d04f2bccdd5\"\n >\n The 2026 Out100: Maxx Boykin & Jeremiah Johnson \n \n
\n Meet two of the artists, disruptors, educators, groundbreakers, innovators, and storytellers who all helped make the world a better place for LGBTQ+ people.
\n \n <a href=\"https://www.out.com/\"\n target=\"_blank\"\n rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"\n class=\"release-content-bookmark__provider\"\n >\n \n Out Magazine \n
\n
\n
STORIES THAT MOVE PEOPLE

"From the stages where culture is shaped to the communities fighting for their health and dignity, Peppermint, Jeremiah and Maxx remind us what LGBTQ+ visibility can accomplish," said Tony Morrison, Founder of Morrison Media Group. "Their work is about more than being seen.
